Like a corpse that has been exhumed, so it is with those who have been redeemed who dig up sins that have already been forgiven through the blood of My Son, Jesus. These believers have taken it upon themselves to resurrect what I have called “dead”, and so are still troubled by guilt even though I have promised that there is no longer any condemnation for those found in Christ the Savior.
However, it is still difficult for some of My children to accept that I no longer count their sins against them, as they are unable to perceive what My Son accomplished through the finished work of the Cross. Because of this lack of understanding, these believers continue to resuscitate what was killed and buried the moment they laid their hearts upon salvation’s altar. For it was then that their every misdeed knew atonement, which is why none who are My children should be dredging up any past sin.
Therefore, once those who stepped through the doorway opened up by redemption, and, upon crossing that threshold, have put to death every bit of their past, a new life has begun, one that has not a single blemish of decay.
So then leave the casket closed, and shun any thoughts that urge you to reexamine its contents, for there is nothing that was meant to be left behind which adds any value to your future. Stop shoveling up this dirt and allow the past to rest in peace, for it no longer has any power over your life.
It is time to move beyond this graveside and stop mourning over what cannot be changed. What’s done is done. Thankfully for My Son, these transgressions have been covered by His blood, and so can be left behind and forgotten, as I have already cast your sins into the sea of forgetfulness. Then if I am not keeping record of these transgressions, neither should you.
Upon you has been given the blessed gift of forgiveness; so walk as such.
“In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.” -Romans 6:11-14
