A life lived in pursuit of righteousness, is a life well-lived, for there is no other worthwhile goal than to become more like Christ.
Those who desire to be bearers of His image must meet every circumstance with His disposition, thereby choosing to reflect His nature, whether encountering friend or foe, where even their actions towards others are a witness of His love. So then even when slighted, offense is not taken, but is instead met with kindness, having turned the other cheek without offering any form of rebuke. For those who are following this noble path are less concerned about protecting their own reputation as they are about seeing the name of Christ magnified.
And so to live as Him means abandoning the old habits of the flesh: those attitudes and behaviors of your former selves, for these will only serve as stumbling blocks on that higher road of faith.
Then no longer agree with your previous identity by addressing life and all it encompasses with that lower mentality. For you who dwell in My Son can choose to be as He is, here and now, because you carry the same Spirit within that raised Him from the dead. How you approach each person and circumstance should, therefore, reflect this internal change, for it is through your good conduct and humble countenance that others shall be drawn to the ‘Light of Heaven’.
Then walk through your days with a purposeful heart and the intention of exemplifying Christ in all you say and do. For this reason, you must reflect upon how it was that He actually lived, so that you, too, shall bring glory to your Father in Heaven.
Therefore, it is to Him and only Him that you must look so that your feet remain planted on the path that leads to righteous living.
“But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11
